Festival of Lights: Bigger and better than ever! The holidays truly glow with the magic of the season at Silver Springs with more than a million twinkling lights and shimmering neon displays. The 2011 Festival of Lights is the most lavish yet, enchanting all who behold the sight from dusk until 8:00 pm each day. December 16th – 24th, 26th – 31st

Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen, at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala, comes directly from Kent State University Museum and is the star’s personal collection of costumes from her six-decade career. Among the garments on display are the actress’ beloved trousers, worn by a handful of half mannequins lying in repose, sitting with legs crossed and even upside down with legs spread wide—a play off one of the actress’ publicity shots depicting the athletic young star in a headstand. “She found a style she liked and she had it made again and again and again,” explained Jean Druesedow, Director of the Kent State University Museum.

New Restaurant recently opened- Buffet City

The new Buffet City opened its doors Saturday, November 19th, 2011 located at 1512 SW College Road at Martin Luther King Avenue.

The place is massive…. We’re talking some 12,000 square feet of space.  Eight hot and cold holding tables, a hugh Mongolian barbecue/hibachi grill and a sushi bar.  Much bigger than any others I’ve seen. And  the food was great!

Buffet City also plans to be open Christmas. Its regular hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. For more information call  352-236-8848.
